Our Leadership
Our parish is under the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR) in the diocese of Chicago and Mid-America under His Eminence Archbishop Peter. Presently, we do not have a full-time priest.
Our Name’s Sake
Our parish is named after the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God, a miracle-working icon dating from the 13th century. A history of the icon can be found here: https://eadiocese.org/kurskrooticon.
How to Find Us
From I-39 at Wausau:
Take Hwy 29 West (Exit 191A- Abbotsford/Chippewa Falls).
Drive about 12 miles (look for the cell tower) and turn North on County S (Rib Falls).
Go 4 miles and turn East (right) on East 21st St (Countryside Dr).
The church will be about 1/2 mile on the left, look for the onion dome.
